Register today for the next Chamber Lunch Program on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 11:30 a.m. at the Historic Sheridan Inn, 856 Broadway. The topic is “Building Our Future: Education in Sheridan County” and will feature updates from Sheridan County School Districts 1, 2 and 3 as well as Sheridan College. First Interstate Bank will serve as the Platinum Community Partner host. Cost is $25 per person, which includes the program and lunch buffet. Seating is limited! Reservations are required by 4 p.m., Monday, Sept. 7.

Day of Service — cleaning veterans' headstones

Sheridan Municipal Cemetery

Come join us on September 9 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm at the Sheridan Cemetery as we help clean headstones of veterans and others in our community in preparation for the 9/11 Day of Remembrance. Bring a bucket, a scrubber, and gloves (if wanted). We will provide the solution and refreshments. Hosted by the Sheridan Wyoming Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; open to everyone.

Film Screening of "Meltdown in Dixie"

Softball Complex

You are invited to join us for a special screening of current artist-in-residence Emily Harrold’s short film “Meltdown in Dixie” at Sheridan College Kooi Library on Wednesday, September 9, at 6 p.m. “Meltdown in Dixie” is about BBQ, ice cream, and the broader role of Confederate symbolism in the 21st century and the lingering racial oppression which symbols such as this help maintain. After the 40-minute screening, we will have a brief Q&A with Emily. This event is free and open to the public.

Artist talk and Closing Reception September 10, 2026 at 4 p.m. Eliza Weber completed her MFA at Arizona State University and BFA at The University of Montana. She has completed residencies at Pottery Northwest in Seattle, Washington, Medalta in Alberta, Canada, The Pottery Workshop in Jingdezhen, China, and Open Air at the Flathead Lake Biological Station. Her nonprofit work includes Director of Education at the Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art and serving on the boards of NCECA and the Ceramics Research Center.

Old Time Tractor Pull

Sheridan County Fairgrounds north parking lot

Sheridan Area Old Time Pullers will be hosting their semi-annual tractor pull again at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 12th, starting at 10:00 a.m. Bring the whole family out for a fun morning and afternoon of watching these antique farm machines (manufactured before 1963) being put through their paces! Weigh-in for participants will start at 8:00, with the pulling competition to follow.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Out of the Darkness Walk

The Walks are an opportunity to find a supportive community of people who get it, to know you're not alone, and to make a difference together. Walks are between 1 to 3 miles and non-competitive. The route and additional information specific to the Sheridan County Walk will be provided at the Walk. Our program includes an opening ceremony, activities of hope and healing, resource tables, and complimentary honor beads for every participant.

Just-A-Card Shop hosts an after-hours stand-up comedy showcase! Bozeman, MT comedian (and Sheridan ex-pat) Kyle Kulseth brings his blend of self-deprecating storytelling, and off-beat observationism back home, to pair with local comedians, Jon Cates, Saige Stanger and Levi Pitchford. Peruse the stacks before the show starts, for a wide variety of game-cards, D&D and TTRPG material and more, and then settle in for an hour or so of laughs, chuckles, chortles and--yes--giggles & guffaws! Hannah O’Hare Bennett is a Madison-based multidisciplinary artist with nine years of professional practice since completing her MFA in Design Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017. She came to graduate school after fifteen years in sustainable agriculture and food systems, including two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador, a country and community she has continued to return to and work with ever since. That life before art runs through everything she makes.
